The SimPilot viewer provides 16 interactive tools for exploring simulation results. Tools are organized by category in the right workbench panel and each active tool exposes its parameter inspector directly below its toggle.
Point Probe
Enable Point Probe, then click in the viewport to query field values. Results appear in the in-view probe card and are also appended to the bottom Probe Data table.
Line Probe
Define a line along an axis (or diagonal) using normalized start/end controls. This is useful for profile sampling along channels, ducts, and wakes.
Plane Probe
Sample field data on a plane by selecting axis and normalized position.
Clip Plane
Remove part of the geometry to reveal interior structures. Define the clip plane orientation and position. Everything on one side of the plane is hidden, letting you see inside the domain.
Slice
Similar to clipping, but extracts a 2D surface at the cut location rather than removing geometry. The slice shows the field distribution on the cutting plane as a color-mapped surface.
Threshold
Filter the display to show only cells where a field value falls within a specified range. For example, show only regions where velocity exceeds 10 m/s, or where temperature is between 300K and 400K.
Flow visualization
Streamlines
Trace the path that fluid particles follow through the velocity field. Configure seed count from the tool panel.
Glyphs
Display vector arrows showing direction and magnitude. Arrow scale and sample count are adjustable.
Isosurface
Extract a 3D surface where a field equals a specific value. For example, extract the surface where pressure equals atmospheric pressure, or where velocity magnitude equals 5 m/s.
Multi-Isosurface
Display multiple isosurfaces simultaneously at different field values. Useful for seeing the structure of a field across several thresholds at once.
Ruler
Measure distance along selected axis/diagonal using normalized start/end points.
Calculator
Compute derived fields from existing data using arithmetic expressions. For example, compute velocity magnitude, vorticity, or pressure coefficient from raw solver output.
Mirror
Mirror the geometry across a symmetry plane. Useful when you've simulated only half of a symmetric problem -- the mirror tool shows the full geometry.
Warp
Deform the geometry based on a vector field (typically displacement). Scale factor is adjustable. Primarily useful for structural simulation results where you want to visualize deformation.
Annotation
Add text labels and annotations to the 3D scene. Useful for marking points of interest, labeling regions, or adding notes for reports and presentations.
Data export
Data Export
Export current visualization data in csv, vtk, or vtp format. Export requests and results are listed in the bottom Exports tab.
